Media Arts
G Road’s Media Arts program includes young people, ages 10-17, as they learn how to navigate the tech world responsibly. Participants work in a state-of-the-art studio with professionals to develop skills that translate into the real world. Whether you are in front of the camera or behind it, G Road media helps develop a multitude of skills that are needed to be successful.
Program Coordinator Allie Barton is a Masters Student at ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Our program volunteers, Jody and Carlos, are industry professionals with years of experience. Our program sponsor, The Social Television Network, offers our participants a unique opportunity to work in a real studio.
The program is run similarly to a news room. Deadlines are enforced and participants have to work together to come up with stories that are important to them, set up camera and lighting equipment, edit footage and upload the finished product. This is a unique opportunity for young people to experience an industry that is quickly evolving into the wave of the future.
